In November we exhibited at the Smart Construct event arranged by Naomh McElhatton and her team at Smart Global.

This event was aimed at businesses and organisations in Northern Ireland involved in the construction and engineering industries, allowing them to connect with like-minded companies and associates through panels, networking, breakout sessions, open mic slots and lunch.

It was great to be part of this event, networking with some of the other businesses present and hear about the challenges facing these industries and how digital solutions can help.

On the day we showcased how solutions our team has delivered for clients such as Warmflow, Derry Bros Shipping and Any-3 have helped to digitally transform the day-to-day working of their businesses.

Digital transformation in the construction & engineering industries:

At the event, we heard that construction is one of the least digitally transformed industries and represents a fantastic opportunity for new ideas and approaches. Over the last few years we have consulted with various clients on how digital solutions like mobile apps and management systems can be used to increase speed and efficiency alongside improving the customer experience and providing data-driven insights.

At the event it was great to chat with so many people from the industry about how we can help them innovate in their field with a variety of different use-cases discussed including:

  • Work-in-field job assignment and work in progress
  •  Tracking contractors on-site
  • Solutions for quality control tracking
  • Full site document control and version tracking
  • Proof of work visual checks

This was the first of two events we are exhibiting at with Smart Global with the next one (Smart Retail) happening on the 5th February 2019 in Belfast. At Smart Retail, we will be showcasing projects we have completed (and some that will be going live shortly) that are relevant to the retail industry.
